A visit to Dennis

The Bloglady went to see Dennis today.
Those safety jackets are very bright!

At the moment, Dennis is in the Council Depot at Lister Road. There was some possible engine trouble, but it was quickly sorted out!
Below, the view from the top deck.

Here are two of the men who have been working on him.

Don't settle in too much, Dennis - you're coming to Jesson's VERY soon!

This gritting lorry was busy gritting last night - and probably tonight as well.

These are the snow ploughs lined up ready to go out at a moment's notice.
Come on weather! It's March. We need some sunshine.
(The Bloglady enjoyed her trip round the depot!)

Look out for big news about Dennis later this week!

A Victory!

No pictures today,
but...
...good news:

(they beat a really good team from Wollescote Primary School.)
Well done, girls!
Especially to Allyssa, who scored
a hat-trick!!!!!!

Thanks to teachers for organising and for others for supporting

Of football and raffles

Our football team went to West Bromwich for a tournament on Friday

They came third - and were very unlucky not to make the final

Meanwhile, Easter approaches - the Friends of Jesson's are organising a raffle
Some of the prizes inside the hamper:

Comic Relief - Vivo

Just over a week ago, Jesson's organised a series of concerts, Vivo 3, in Dudley Town Hall, to raise money for Comic Relief.

Ellympics

A large team from Years 4 and 5 went to Ellowes Hall School, to their "Ellympics"

Here they are waiting in the hall ready to go

More of the team

This is the boys' basketball team.

Cheering on the relay!

A close-up of our new kit - tee-shirts and poloshirts with the Jesson's badge

The girls' basketball team won their event - gold medals!!!!!!

Thanks to the staff for taking them  - and thankyou Ellowes Sports Leaders, Sixth Formers and Sports Ambassadors for the organisation and the smooth running of the day.
The children came back with their eyes shining!

As red as you dare

Raising money for Comic Relief, children were encouraged to come to school "as red as you dare"
I think they managed! Below, scenes from a walk round school.

This is part of 5L who have just finished their assembly on Comic Relief - it involved singing, cheerleading, joke-telling and poetry. They reminded us of the story of the Good Samaritan too.

Not everyone got on well with the red noses. We couldn't get the one on the left to stay on at all - and the one on the right only worked when the head was tilted right back!!!

A good day - but other things happened too. Of which more over the weekend!
