Working in school

The Bloglady was in school today - for a meeting about the building work that is going on over the holiday

Mrs George asks the Clerk of Works about some technical details

Oh dear, the corridor is difficult to get through at the moment

The electricity is cut off briefly
Later, Mr Shackleton and Mrs George discuss next term

What do the teachers do in the holidays? Part 1

Mrs Stone has been catching up with some ironing!

Mrs Fellows went to her friend's wedding: they have been friends since they were two years old.

Mr Jackson went to Beer, a seaside village in Devon
Miss Nuttall sunbathed wearing two hats because it was very warm

Mrs Price has been walking her two lovely dogs...
....and doing the washing for a whole football team
And look what Mr Mitchell has been doing:

...settling in the family's new chickens

Lovely. (The chicken!)

In school, the work goes on.

Today, Monday 28th July
Some cleaners were still in

All busily cleaning away!

Piles of stuff in Room 101

Mr Holmes is helping ...

....Mr Mitchell, because he is moving classrooms.

Mrs Robottom is checking the violins ready for next year

Miss Hebron is sorting out some printing

These men are "refreshing" all our computers and rebuilding them

The hall floor shines in the light, having been polished

Miss Kamboo tries to hide from the camera while cleaning  some play equipment

Outside, the boundary wall is being repaired/replaced. You can see how it needs it.

These are the men working on it.

On the other side of "the cage", this tree has been (vigorously) pruned.

A busy day. School is like this throughout the holiday.

Giants!

Today the Bloglady went to Liverpool to see the giants which were visiting the city.
This is Grandma. Look at the man by her feet. Her knees are lifted by him jumping off a platform

It takes 22 people altogether to operate Grandma

This is the little girl

The crowds were huge!

If you look carefully at the middle of the picture you can see the giants in bed, ready to be craned onto a ship
Sorry for the diversion - school pictures tomorrow!

Be Bold - 2W's assembly from June!

It was Class 2W's assembly on the day of JessFest, and these pictures have only just surfaced

It was all about Bravery

It was very lively, with lots of singing and dancing

...as well as a performance of I'm ready for you Lord

Even adults have to be brave. Here is the Bloglady with her mini-me, who rushed around shouting in a panic because Ofsted was coming! Not at all like the real thing! (But very funny!)

School in the holidays

Mrs Fellows had two helpers when she was getting her class ready for next year...

...plus Mr Holmes.

Meanwhile, the staff toilets are being upgraded.

Everywhere looks unfamiliar

There was lots of banging as the wall was demolished

The man behind the ladder is the clerk of works checking on the safety aspects.

Lots of equipment in the corridor.

Year 6's last day at Jesson's

There was a Leavers' Party with food

...of course, with food...

...as always at Jesson's

It was very warm, and fun to sit by the waterfall in the quad.

Just before they left, the children were presented with dictionaries

We hope they keep them for ever as a reminder

Best wishes, Year 6. We'll miss you.
