A late night, and a sunny Year 1 playtime

It was a late night on Tuesday. Our rock choir, Fusion, started again after the holiday.
They are practising for our summer festival  - of which more in future weeks. For now, just put the date June 27th in your diary
This was taken at 8.45 pm. The sky is till quite light!
And now for today - the Year 1 playground, the children are having a lovely time in the sunshine
Pictures of the older children will follow tomorrow

Around school one Thursday afternoon before Easter

In the boardroom, Mrs Shackleton does some marking

Next to her is her box of stamps to put in the children's books

Mrs Stone and Mrs Careless are discussing prefixes and how they are going to teach them

Meanwhile the Teaching Assistants are having extra training.

They are all happy because they had some good feedback from when we monitored their role in English lessons. Nearest the camera is Mrs Farrell - our new Special Needs Co-ordinator. (Don't worry, we haven't lost Mrs Rowley: her new title is Inclusion Manager)

 Jesus and the two women

The staff!!!

Just a bit of fun before we start back to school.

WE START TOMORROW! THERE IS NO TRAINING DAY

The staff dressed up in colourful outfits on our non uniform day! (It's probably best if I don't comment!)

India week - new pictures

As well as visiting the gurdwara, dancing,  and cooking and tasting food, year 5 also learnt about traditional Indian clothes

It's always fun to try some on

Everyone had a go

Even the teachers (eg Mrs Fellows in the background)

There was a fashion show!

Another day, the children experienced mendhi patterns

Here, they proudly display some results

It was a great week - the staff had worked hard to plan it all, and the children loved their practical experiences.
Everyone learned some new things!

Recording!

Just before the holidays, we had a recording session at the Town Hall.
Here's Oli, the sound engineer. It took three hours to set up the equipment.

Jubilate arrived first and recorded two songs, before stopping for a food break!

Dark pictures, because it was dark in there!

Lots of fun, ready for a long night of recording ahead

The children were very excited

..but of course it didn't stop them eating.

Here are some members of Fusion, some of whom who came straight from work

Mr Jackson and Mr Kimberley are ready to  record again

Mr Hayward stretches his drumming muscles, while Matt our bass player looks for the next piece of music

And we're off. Luke, assistant conductor, briefs the choir on their next song

Fusion listen intently

Mrs Roden takes the men through their paces!
The recording is now being worked on and will be ready for JessFest at the end of June.
