Here is the team from Years 3 and 4 doing some last minute revision before the Library Quiz

Setting off to walk to the Library

The Year 5/6 team in action

Afterwards, they came to tell the Bloglady all about it all about it
 ...and to show their certificates
They weren't the winners on this occasion, but it was very close, they made us proud of their hard work and behaviour, - and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Well done children!

Exciting times ahead

Mrs Fellows is very excited about a new delivery we have had...

...and so are the rest of the staff. A closer look at the boxes.

Meanwhile, Miss Kaur photocopies her plans for the week's work,

Mrs Shackleton and Miss Barker plan rehearsals,

the corridors are cleared for more painting,

and Mr Kimberley gets some resources out of the stockroom.

We've got an exciting half term of work and activity coming up, children.
And we start tomorrow!!!!

Poetry Please

Last week, Year 5 classes did some performance poetry.
They were given a subject, then had just over an hour to write a poem as a class, and perform it on stage to the rest of the yeargroup.

Singing in the holidays

Fusion - our community choir - had an extra rehearsal over half term because their concert is rapidly approaching.

Members of Jubilate also came along (and tried to hog the microphone!)
Mrs Robottom has sold lots of tickets already - if you haven't got yours, they are almost sold out! (Friday March 8th, 7pm at the Town Hall.
Profits to Comic Relief)

Mrs Roden is pleased after a successful rehearsal.
The choir are doing some moves their songs, and the children from Jubilate lead the dancing.
(Especially this boy!)

Craft Cafe

Here's what you missed at the Craft Cafe (Monday and Tuesday)

Decorating egg candles for Easter

Playing Hopscotch in the playground, in glorious sunshime, between activities

Gift bags to make you feel proud
Football  - also in the sunshine

Working non stop to produce a range of beautifully decorated items
Sock puppets - enough to make anyone smile!
Don't you wish you'd been there?

Thanks to Mrs Rowlands for organising. She also says:

"thanks to Kim who, with Scarlet, Grace and Katherine, gave me lots of help on Monday and to Molly, Jo and mum for their support clearing up (and lots of hoovering) on Tuesday"

Partner classes

Each class at Jesson's has a partner class.

This is 4F with their partner class in Reception

It's lovely to see the older children (and teachers!) working with the younger ones

Everyone loves these sessions

It helps to keep Jesson's one big family!

The Gruffalo Dance

Year 2 have been working with our Dancer in Residence...
...to create a dance...

...based on the Gruffalo and the animals in the story.

The children got into the characters of the animals as they danced

I loved the way they kept in character throughout the piece

Every child moved as an individual...

but the class occasionally came together to make big shapes.

An unforgettable dance - moving and thrilling in turn. Well done, children.

Skeleton shapes!

Children in Year 5 have been investigating solid shapes in their maths.
Then they made the shapes just using the edges.
Skeleton shapes, in fact.

It's a rewarding experience when you get it right!!!!!

Year 1 parents do phonics

Last week, Year 1 parents came into school to learn a bit about phonics.
There was a story about two aliens - Obb and Bob.
They knew which words were real and which weren't.
The story turned into a game.
Everyone learnt a lot.
Thankyou, Miss Channa (who organised the session). Everyone enjoyed it!
