End of Term fun in Year 4

It was the day of the Christmas party - just a little bit of the Christmas video to finish first,...
...and then time to change into party clothes and start the dancing.
Picnics on the classroom carpet!
We probably won't need any tea when we get home!
Some people got a bit tired!
Mr Kimberley and Miss Johnstone posted the letters to Santa on the way home.

The real meaning of Christmas

In every department in school, in a variety of ways, the story of the nativity was told in our concerts and carol services.

Here are three pictures from Hosanna Rock by Years 1 and 2.
A traditional telling with modern music, here are our brightly dressed choir

The actors on the stage are waving their hands to celebrate the birth of the new king
(and so are some of the audience)

...and this was my favourite picture from the Foundation Nativity
A peaceful and happy Christmastime to you all,
from everyone at Jesson's C.E.Primary School

Graduation

Today Mrs Cox went to Edge Hill University to be awarded her MA (Master of Arts) in Early Childhood Mathematics.

It has taken three years of part time study - all done while holding down a full-time job.

Most of the other people who did the course are employed as Maths advisers and consultants - Mrs Cox was the only full-time classroom teacher to complete the course.
Here she is with Susie Nicholson, the National Trainer for Every Child Counts (spotty dress)

And this is Nick Dowrick National Director of Every Child Counts
Well done Mrs Cox! Jesson's is very proud of your achievement

A visit, and a dress rehearsal

Nursery went on a trip to Wonderland at Telford
Rudolph's nose wasn't particularly red today
Santa was inside, taking a rest from his workshop

Back at school, children get ready for the first dress rehearsal of Hosanna Rock.
These are the kings and pages
There's a lot of sorting out to do
 Little donkey
 Some more stable animals
More to follow

Singing to others

Here is Class 2W who went to sing carols to the residents of Nelson House. They sang very sweetly and were much appreciated.
Below, at the Claughton Centre - people at the Black Carers Annual Christmas party wait for the entertainment to start.

This time, it is Jubilate who were performing.
"Wow, the song Awakening was so powerful it nearly blew my eyebrows off" said Mrs Roden.
(We have no photographic record as to whether this was true!)

A famous shirt and a lot of Santas

Here's the famous England shirt, as worn by former pupil Reece Brown when he represented England a fortnight ago

His proud sisters, Elise and Candice brought it in for us to see
In the background, you can see some of our other trophies - I wonder if the winners of those will go on to similar sporting success?

It was the Santa Jog at Mary Stevens Park this weekend
Chelsey, the chair of our School Council, was going to run in memory of her Grandad...
...but I couldn't spot her among all these other Santas. It was a good cause though.

Well done Chelsey anyway, it was a tough and muddy course
PS the blog lady (a keen walker) says that running is much harder than walking.

Blurred becasue they were all dancing - the blog lady needs a better camera!
The Angel Gabriel is glad it's all finished now!
