We held a competition among the children to win the first go down the chute

Apparently Miss Agrawal's squeals were the stuff of legend, and Mr Shackleton spent almost an entire dinner-time sliding.

They were not placed on this occasion, but had a lot of fun - and got very muddy and cold into the bargain.

Representing the school is a great honour - well done to all the children who did.

Two men arrived on Friday to fit the chute to Dennis

They were soon joined by others...

What goes into a class assembly, part 2

Here are Miss Kaur's class practising their assembly

It's all about being grateful to the people who help us

The children in front are the partner class from Year 4. On the stage is a lollipop lady helping a child.

Mr Holmes usually does the Powerpoint, and here is Mr Hayward, taking a break from drum-playing to try and find out why one of the microphones isn't working!

The partner class are relieved they did their bit right, after a bit of a false start! 

Lots of people involved then, and lots of work beforehand. But it will all prove worthwhile in the end, as we shall see....

What goes into a class assembly - part 1

Parents see the end product of a class assembly, but here is what goes on beforehand.

In Miss Kaur's classroom the children have been practising their words.

Mr Jackson has been to their class with his guitar, to practise their songs.

And now, the children come over the the Large Hall for their practice

They are all excited!

They come in and take off their coats, ready to start. 

 They sit quietly waiting

Mr Jackson takes his coat off too, as the last child comes in

Mrs Wooldridge checks with Miss Kaur whether they are ready to go to their positions on stage
