A very exciting day

Jubilate were dressed up in the Large Hall

Ready for our visitors - here are some from the Diocese, with Father Andrew and Governor Raj Patel

In the staffroom, people from Dudley Interfaith group

Bishop John (Worcester) hides away. He's waiting for an announcement from Downing Street

In the Hall, the children and guests listen to the welcome from Mrs Shackleton

It's quite nerve-wracking. The choir  sing another song, because the expected announcement is delayed

Then the moment - Bishop John explains that bishops are a bit like Dr Who: they have lots of different incarnations!

Finally, the new Bishop of Dudley has his name made public! He is called Rev Graham Usher. He made an instant hit with the children when he asked about our bus Dennis!

Rev Usher will be the youngest bishop in the country when he is ordained at Canterbury Cathedral in March - until then he is Bishop Designate.

In the staff-room, some of our special guests met afterwards for coffee and cake.

Guests included the Chief Executive of Dudley Council, the Deputy Mayoress, various local clergy, the Lord Lieutenant of the West Midlands, and local councillors

All the staff had to park on the playground to make room!

Even the Bloglady got to sit down eventually. It was good, because many of our guests commented on how well Jubilate had sung, and the exemplary behaviour of the children.

But what's this? Jubilate are on the move again!

They went next to the Carol Service for all the people who work for Dudley Borough

This is Mr John Polychronakis, Chief Executive of Dudley Council, reading the lesson (He's just been at Jesson's with us!!!)

What great experiences today! The children will remember the day for years to come

Mr Hayward packs away his drum kit - luckily he has two (one at Jesson's and one for travelling), because the services were only about an hour apart!
