Greece is the word

A whole school focus on Myths and Legends for our concerts has led to some excellent classroom work and some great displays.
No comments are necessary - the pictures tell their own story.

Orchestra and Games Club

Our school orchestra is practising for Musical Gold, our concert at the end of May. Not long now!

It's the first time they have played on our stage - they only just fit on it!

Some Year 6 children help with our Games Club. After several "proper "domino games, this group  decide to make a domino knock-down line. ("soldiers", the bloglady used to call it.)

Oh whoops, somebody's got to miss a turn! Just when he was in the lead, too.

Some excellent strategies being used.

The whole club is really popular

Reception children are studying butterflies. This butterfly pavilion is full of cocoons(hanging from the green spiral)

Outside, the rain pours down. The nursery playground is covered in puddles. 

What miserable weather. Who knows, the caterpillars might be glad to be indoors! 

Not everyone was allowed to vote

School was closed for Polling Day, so this little badger cub came out for a walk on our field.

We have a fox from time to time at night, but it's the first badger we've seen.

I liked this wooden tunnel 

In the classroom were some stuffed animals. Below is a stoat - or a weasel.

What's the difference? Well, a weasel is weasily recognised, but a stoat is stoatally different

More animals - although the fox in the foreground isn't very convincing! 

Birds

Earlier, in March, Year 6 did the same trip. The weather was much kinder

Most of the activites were the same - just less muddy. Above, building a tall tower.

Walking on planks - more difficult than it looks - needs real team spirit

Another co-operation task - carrying a tennis ball through difficult terrain.

Year 5 have fun in the forest

Year 5 went to the Wyre Forest for some teambuilding outdoor activities:

There were problem solving activities

We ate inside, even though it wasn't actually raining

It was muddy,

very muddy.

It was easy to lose a shoe in the mud

We tried to keep to the dry bits

.

.... but  it wasn't easy to keep your balance.

Some people sat down in the mud (not on purpose!)

What a lot of fun we had! We really did!!!!
