Being ambitious

We work our children hard at Jesson's.

Reception children coming over to school to use the computer room for their challenging work

Year 5 Literacy.* Children study a challenging spelling task. Plurals of words ending in "o". (Many shopkeepers have difficulty with that!)
Sunlight shines on them as they try to think

In the small computer room, some children work, while some are puzzled.

It's our group of children who are studying Level 6 in Maths - here, they pose for the camera. A welcome break from all the hard thinking.
*Can you compete with Year 5? Do you know the plurals of:
hero    solo   tomato   piano   potato  tornado    volcano   concerto

Leaves, signs, mugs and sunshine

A walk around school today found these

A closeup. A lily pad. There to intrigue Year 6 children in their English lessons

And what's this? A sign on a bare notice board - stripped of its display.
It reads - "What's going on here? (It's Narnia business)"
Ha ha. Year 4 literacy lesson then !

In the Teaching Assistants' room the mugs are arranged neatly on the shelves - they're not in use, because everyone is working.

Looking through the classroom windows, the sun is starting to shine on the playground equipment

Let's hope it lasts

Attendance and dogs

The certificates for attendance (on earlier blog) were given out
The display shows the latest attendance for the week (the two thermometers on the left)

A close-up of the final thermometer shows that Class 2S has the best attendance in the school, closely follwed by 3G and 6R

The class with the best attendance of the week keeps the Attendance Dog in their room.
But we have other dogs in school
A recess which held an old fire-hose is now the home of Jessy. The School Council is raising money for Guide Dogs for the Blind

Return to school at 5.30 p.m.

Year 3 went to Wolverhampton Grand to see the Pantomime.
Parents (and Mrs George) waiting for the return of their children at 5.pm.

The children go back into school to collect their things before finally going home

A long day - but worth it
The Pantomime was fantastic!

Around Year 1 this afternoon

Class 1KD has a "new teacher". The children listen to him intently!

They are showing how to practise good listening.

In Class 1S children have a maths puzzle. The numbers have to be coloured in differently to reveal a picture

Miss Channa goes through some finished workwork

Oh no - someone's posing for the photographer instead of working!

If you finish, you get 7 minutes to choose an activity

The reading corner looks cosy

They are all due in soon - I hope to have more pictures then.
