Outdoor Activites

Teams of children from Year 6 went to Ellowes Hall for the Primary School Olympics. We won several events but were just beaten overall by Straits Primary, so we came a very creditable second. Here the children wait in the brand new Sports Hall for the results.

After school Mrs Stone and the team held a meeting for the children going to Astley Burf on October 3rd for our residential week

Some children were surprised to learn that there are no shops, no televisions and no mobile phones allowed. They'll have to write a post card if they want to keep in touch!



Reading and PE

We need some more volunteers for this. Could you do it? Training will be given. Just come in and ask. Even an hour a week is valuable

Travelling is the theme for our Assemblies this half term - and it's also the theme of 2S's PE lesson today: travelling across the floor in interesting ways.

Mrs Stone's class were awarded the attendance bear in Key Stage 1. Class 2S now have to choose a name for it.

A Tuesday after school at Jesson's....

First day of the new term

It was the first day of the 2011-12 school year.
Lots of excited children were going to their new classes today.

Here are two pictures from Mrs Batchelor's class, in Year 1. They've moved here from the Reception classes in the Foundation Block, so everything is new to them.

They seem to have settled quite well already. Here they are working hard on their drawings

The day before term starts

A new room is being created in the gap next to the Headteacher's office. It will take about three weeks to finish.

In the Large Hall the cleaners are working hard to clean up following the fantastic refurbishment.

Labels lay waiting to be stuck on. Isn't it a great feeling to start a new book? We're going to work really hard on presentation this term.

See you all tomorrow! Roadworks are mostly finished, so you should be able to get up School Street and Grange Street, and also Nelson Road, we hope. Think Russell Street might be a bit difficult though.
