Pictures from Joseph

Some children have been waiting all summer for these to appear! Sorry about that - a few technical issues finding them.

No apologies for a whole stream of photos - and more tomorrow. A fabulous production of
Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
by the whole of Years 5 and 6 and put together by the staff from that phase - with much help from other members of staff too.

A real team effort

Before the start, the narrators chat with the Bloglady

Above, the show begins

Below, Jacob and his sons are introduced

It was a large family!

The coat that caused the trouble

It was a multi-coloured coat - "red and orange and green and brown and BLUE!"

Joseph's dreams annoyed the brothers too

They sold Joseph to the Ishmaelites

There's one more angel in heaven....

In Egypt, Joseph got to work for Potiphar

...but Mrs Potiphar had other plans

Joseph ended up in prison, and all the doors were closed to him
 To be continued

What they did in the holidays - part 4

Mrs Careless and daughter went up the Shard (London's tallest building)

Mr Mitchell rewarded his daughter for labelling his class drawers (see earlier blog) with a trip to Lands End...

... and to St Michael's Mount

Miss Channa went into school for some last minute planning

Mrs Roden and family  at Trentham Gardens (she's the one in the shades!)

Mr Shackleton and daughter at the magnificent Alhambra Palace in Southern Spain

...and here, with his son

Mrs Shackleton gets on a photo at last!

Work in progress before school starts. Part two.

Tuesday morning. There's a sad space on the wall where the portrait of Mr Jesson, the founder of the school, hung before it was accidentally damaged.

Outside, a recovery truck has come to collect Dennis, the school bus, to take him off for refurbishment

The truck surveys the scene

Reversing towards Dennis

In the end, they decided that towing Dennis across the playground would damage our playground (it's not built to cover traffic - only children!)

So, on Grange Road, Dennis is hitched up. You have to disable the drive shaft, or else it could blow up while being towed!

And look, the portrait is back - after 4 months away being restored by Moira, who does lots of work for Birmingham's museums and art galleries.
She said Mr Jesson looked like a kind person - and the Bloglady has to agree!

Below, a sketch of some of Dennis's refurbishment plans

And two drafts for the side panels - usually used for advertising

A very busy last week - before school starts! Part one

Last week we saw 4F's classroom with breezeblock walls and no furniture.
Here's progress so far (Tuesday morning).
Beautiful blue walls,...

.... and brand new fitted furniture.

Here are the worktops waiting in the corridor.

This is 6S's room. Painting is just starting...

... in a different shade of blue (the aqua green is the old colour)

More fitted furniture waiting. This one is for Class 6A.

Outside, seen though Miss Channa's classroom door, a large machine is taking down the dangerous boundary wall (the butterflies are on the door: they aren't real!)

Parking up for the night.

The painters' vehicles

And that wasn't all that was happening. See tomorrow's blog for more....

Summer memories....behind the scenes at Musica

Jubilate choir performed at Musica 13 in Belbroughton

Eating a packed tea in the shade (it was around 30 degrees in the sun)

Getting set up in the tent

Some people came dressed for a football match, not a choir performance! Don't worry, they changed into their choir clothes later.

The venue before the start. Later there were crowds of people
Pictures from the concert itself were posted earlier on the blog
