Numbers

Just so you know:
the blog had over 4,100 hits during October, and a staggering
31,678 views
since it started.

(But those figures have increased by one now you've looked at it!)

Science lessons

Miss Agrawal's class have been studying rocks and their properties

A closeup of the whiteboard explains the Learning Objective (LO)

Meanwhile, Mrs Shackleton's class are studying the Earth and Space,

and writing up their findings.
Here's 4S's whiteboard...
 ... and the corridor display.
Children in Year 6 repeat the study of the Earth and beyond, but in more depth,
..while, in Year 5, one of the Science topics is healthy eating

Goldilocks

You'll find this display in Nursery - Goldilocks peeping in through the window

And here are the three bears asleep in their own beds before Goldilocks gets to them!

Warning for tomorrow and all of the rest of the week!

Grange Road is subject to massive roadworks - we suggest you park at the Leisure Centre and walk across to school from there. There's a crossing patrol to help you.

(And don't worry, the Leisure Centre have agreed that it will be fine for you to park there)

What do blogladies do during half term?

What do Blogladies do over half term?
They admire strange chairs made from wooden pegs at the Victoria and Albert Museum......,
... they find the tiles in the toilets fascinating....
... and they have a go at posing as an angel in the modern art exhibition there
You probably didn't know that, did you?

From the archives: Year 1 Working Together

Here are some pictures from Year 1's Working Together. The children are in Year 2 now, but the bloglady thought you'd like to see the pictures anyway

I love these pictures because of the proud faces of the parents
I have to say I don't recognise some of these Lion-faced children - but I'm sure their parents know who is who!

Around Key Stage 1's playground

Above, some trees are still quite green

I wonder how long before the frosts kill these lovely flowers?

We'll be looking for volunteers to get our grarden areas looking good for next year. Perhaps you know someone who'd like to help?

Autumnal sights around school

Above, a beautiful beech in the Foundation gardens

Below, a fiery sumach pokes its leaves out between the other shrubs - it's at its best during the Autumn
Hawthorn berries - some of the best for many years

This flowering shrub is amazing. It's just by the entrance to the "road" car park. I've never noticed it until this year
 Another beautiful tree

And of course, in school, displays about Autumn

An Assembly - and positively the last Roald Dahl week pictures

At 1K's Class Assembly I think we broke the record for the number of parents attending.

The Assembly was about reading. Here, children tell us about their favourite books

Final pictures from Roald Dahl Week:

A Ladybird asks the kitchen staff if they've seen a giant peach anywhere

Above, Matilda, a witch and an Oompa Loompa

Below an Enormous Crocodile finishes his beans, while Sophie isn't sure about having her picture taken

A hole new way of looking at things

Oh dear! A very small hole in our playground has turned into a bigger one.
Is it the cellars of the old Parke School* which once stood on the site?
Or is it part of the old air raid shelter which once held 2000 people, and which is said to stretch to the Leisure Centre?
Don't worry - it's securely fenced off. But most intriguing......

* Not Old Park School, but Parke School
