Infant Awards Evening - more pictures

Governors presenting various prizes and certificates at our splendid Awards Evening for the Infant department.

Goodbye Mrs Pemberton

Some pictures from Mrs Pemberton's leaving party. See how many staff (or former staff) you can recognise.

BBC recording sessions

Thursday 10th July: Recording a broadcast for Radio Hereford and Worcester's religious programming slot.

The whole service was done by children from Jubilate choir
"Sticks", our drummer, had to sit in the PE cupboard as his kit was too noisy otherwise

The service will be broadcast on Sunday 22nd July at 7.05a.m.
But if you don't get up in time to hear it, it will be on i-Player, and later on the school website. It's definitely worth a listen as it's all about children leaving Jesson's for their new secondary schools

Simon the soundman showed children his van where all the recoding equipment was situated. He had to sit outside in it while we were recording

Good bye Mrs Pemberton

Mrs Pemberton will be retiring at the end of term - after 26 years at Jesson's

Below, here she is with her two children who were both pupils at Jesson's
Sharing a joke with two of our office staff
We will really miss her, but we wish her a happy retirement!
It was Infant Awards Evening last night. Over 100 children received recognition.

Sun posters

Miss Johnstone's English group made persuasive posters pleading with the sun to make an appearance.
Let's hope the sun is persuaded!!!!
To be honest, anything is worth a try at the moment!

Wombourne Olympics

Jubilate and Fusion choirs were invited to close the Wombourne Olympics.  The umbrellas and wellingtons show what the weather was like. This is an act in the earlier Talent Show.

A faint rainbow followed the Talent Show, below

Antics Dance Group pose for photographs

The choirs had to perform on the ground - there were too many to perform on the stage. Look carefully and you can see the wet hair. They sang in a downpour but they were so good that everyone stayed to watch them
The rain stopped part way through

A fantastic experience for everyone - drowned rats though they were.

An Olympic torch and some parents

Year 4 had a visit from the Much Wenlock Olympians Association - it's where the modern games started. They got to touch an Olympic torch. Later, the rest of the school saw a different one. More of that at another time.

Below, some parents of children who are moving into Year 1 came for a meeting to make the transition process smooth and fuss-free (we hope!!)
