Y5 in the forest part 2 -plus Y6 earlier in the year (and warmer)

Year 5 in Wyre Forest, looking at a metal sculpture of a deer
I liked this wooden tunnel

In the classroom were some stuffed animals. Below is a stoat - or a weasel.
What's the difference? Well, a weasel is weasily recognised, but a stoat is stoatally different

More animals - although the fox in the foreground isn't very convincing!

Birds

Earlier, in March, Year 6 did the same trip. The weather was much kinder

Most of the activites were the same - just less muddy. Above, building a tall tower.
Below, balancing on an island

Walking on planks - more difficult than it looks - needs real team spirit

Another co-operation task - carrying a tennis ball through difficult terrain.

Year 5 have fun in the forest

Year 5 went to the Wyre Forest for some teambuilding outdoor activities:

Following the tutor into the forest

There were problem solving activities
We ate inside, even though it wasn't actually raining

It was muddy,
very muddy.
It was easy to lose a shoe in the mud

We tried to keep to the dry bits
.
.... but  it wasn't easy to keep your balance.
Some people sat down in the mud (not on purpose!)
What a lot of fun we had! We really did!!!!

To make you smile

We can all recognise this scenario!
It's an illustration from our course on parenting, which is starting soon. It's really practical and down to earth. Should be very interesting and helpful - we all need help from time to time! Why not give it a go?

Details from school office - we sent out letters but they may be at the bottom of your child's bag!!!!!

Jubilate at Tesco

It's good to get out into the community, spread a little joy around,  and show what we can do.
Here are Jubilate dancing and singing at Tesco.
We were raising money for Compton Hospice
Over £100 in 45 minutes, which is excellent. We have now raised almost £700 - from our Vivo2 Concert plus this

PS A slightly unfortunate background - but it's where the plugs were!
Thankyou to Mrs Hubbard for supplying the photos - so quickly too!

Year 5 dance

We have a dancer in residence at Jesson's. This half term it's Year 5 who will be working with her. Today was their first session. It was based on an Olympic theme.

This is an experimental post, as we know all computers are different.
Can you see this video? Let us know. It's Year 5 at the end of their first session

Full attendance

On Tuesday, prizes and certificates were given out for full attendance.

6H had 19 certificates for full attendance over the last half term and 15 for the whole term - a real achievement..
Mrs Roberts said: "I am very proud of my wonderful class".

Here's the winner of the half term prize  - a skateboard

The full term prize was this fantastic swingball set.

Easter Bonnets

The last week of term saw our traditional Easter Bonnets parade

Below, outside the hall waiting to go on
Standing in line on the stage
Sometimes hats need adjusting
At the side of the hall were the decorated cakes. These were from children in years 3-6
and they were judged in the afternoon
They look delicious as well as artistic!
The judges take a closer look
The audience watches keenly
Turning round gives a better view sometimes
Simply gorgeous
